compLexity beat ex

compLexity have qualified for the next season of the ESL Pro League after beating ex-Splyce 2-0 in the upper bracket final of the relegation stage, in Leicester.
Prior to the start of the first map, ex-Splyce were handed a heavy blow as David "DAVEY" Stafford was forced to sit the match out after feeling unwell, with team coach Zachary "Eley" Stauffer filling in for the Canadian.
Complexity jumped out to a 4-1 lead on the CT side of Inferno after instantly responding to their opponents' pistol round win. ex-Splyce's offence then kept the coL defence in check several rounds in a row, taking the lead thanks to a Ricardo "Rickeh" Mulholland clutch in a 1v5 situation.
ex-Splyce remained in the driving seat and brought the scoreline to 7-4, but Complexity tightened up their defence in the dying stages of the half to take a one-round lead into the break.
Now on the CT side, ex-Splyce picked up the pistol round thanks to a trio of headshots from Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen, but, just like during the first half, Complexity rallied back immediately to retake the lead. For the rest of the half, Alec "Slemmy" White's troops ripped the defence apart, never allowing their opponents to really build up an economy, with a triple-kill from Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker in a post-plant on the A site putting the game to bed.
Next up was Mirage, where Complexity got off to a great start and took a commanding 11-4 lead after constantly shutting down any chances of ex-Splyce's players stringing rounds together. In the second half, a 1v2 clutch from Taylor "Drone" Johnson still gave the team some hope after they had lost the pistol round, but it would not take long for Complexity to regain control of proceedings and seal the win.
